My name is Emilio Bressan and I hail from
the sunny shores of Cape Town. I have been a volunteer at Zoom-In
since February 2009. I cannot say enough about how much I have enjoyed
my time working here. It had been a long time gone that I had been
in a dark room and I forgot just how much I enjoyed it.
Whilst volunteering here I have been privileged to meet and work with
some awesome people. I have rediscovered my passion for picture taking
and love of printing. I have been lucky enough to work with youngsters
that show interest in photography and it is very rewarding to see
them put into action what they learn through us here.
What I find most rewarding is what I get taught here. The sharing
of skill sets and the love of photography that all who pass through
here share, has definitely inspired me.
I think that this is a wonderful organisation that works hard at making
photography accessible to the masses.
Personally, I enjoy exploring landscape,
portraiture and reportage. I especially enjoy photographing children
and dogs. I love both black and white and colour. I have been taking
pictures since I was 10 years of age. My first camera was a Polaroid
and the first picture was of my mother on the loo. Today I work mostly
in 35mm and have started experimenting with other formats. Thank you
for taking the time to read my profile and follow this
link to see more of my work.
