How You Can Help Zoom-In

Zoom In has an active volunteer programme for those who would like to get involved with helping Zoom In carry out it's activities and educational programme.

How Volunteering Helps Zoom In

Volunteering for Zoom In ensures that Zoom In can continue to provide its activities for individuals and community groups. All of our work is based on the same principle: working together to create opportunities. This extends to Zoom In's volunteers, who are intrinsic to Zoom In; they both create and reflect the organisation's core identity.

How Zoom In Helps Volunteers

Zoom In aims to provide valuable experience for volunteers. Zoom In encourages volunteers to go on training courses and promotes exhibitions and commissions of volunteers own work.

If you would like more information about volunteering at Zoom In please email us through our Volunteer Enquiries Form

This encourages a two-way relationship between volunteers and Zoom In and while volunteers help Zoom In achieve its aims, Zoom In also fulfils its aims by helping volunteers gain experience of the photography and art industries.

Volunteers provide additional support in all aspects of the organisation. Areas of activities you can get involved with are:

Darkroom Sessions
This involves setting up the darkroom, mixing chemicals and assisting user of the darkroom where necessary.

Please have a look at our Darkroom Facilities for activities involved with running the darkroom.

Courses Administration and Tutors Assistants
We always welcome volunteers to get involved with the education Programme by helping administrate courses, Enrolling and welcoming students on arrival and also helping the tutors with running the courses. This is invaluable experience for those who may be thinking of a career in education. You may be helping the students in the darkroom or setting up lights in the studio.

You don't need a great deal of experience as long as you know the basics and you will learn plenty of new skills by helping out.

Please have a look at our Online Photography Prospectus for course we run and welcome assistants to help out on.
