Members Exhibition
Memorabilia
Zoom In kicks off 2004 with an exhibition of the varied and exciting photographic
work done by our members. For this show, we expand beyond the usual confines
of the Bread and Roses Pub’s family room, to take over the front bar as
well.
Work on display includes Mimi Winter’s jewel-like aerial photos of London
landscapes, surprisingly green with allotments and gardens; Faye de Gannes’ large-scale
portrait, part of a series showing Black British teenagers wearing hooded tops
which operate as a signifier of their cultural identity; Ike Egbetola’s
subtle monochrome abstracts exploring light and shadow; and Franciszek Strzeszewski’s
street portraits, capturing a moment of interaction between the photographer
and a series of strangers whose faces appealed to him.
Says Maedhbhina McCombe, of Zoom In,
“We’re really proud of the work our members do, and it’s great
to get the chance to show it as part of one exhibition. This is truly not to
be missed!”
