Your Course Questions Answered

discovering photography skills - Neatsy Cool volunteer

Q: I would like to understand how to use my camera when taking pictures in different light conditions. What would you recommend?

A: Basic Photography, which is our most popular course, caters for the absolute beginner. This course will give you all the basics you need to understand your camera and also learn and understand darkroom techniques to help produce good prints. Alternatively you may wish to attend either our Camera Introduction workshop, which will introduce you to your camera's manual controls or our Camera Basics, which will take you through manual camera control and composition allowing time for feed back from the tutor on your work and understanding.

Q: Please can you send me a brochure of your courses?
A: We are a small ‘unsubsidised’ not-for-profit organisation and in order to keep our costs down we try to give as much information as possible on our web site, which we can change constantly and therefore keep our information up to date. We do not have a brochure of our courses, but all course information can be found in our Photography Courses section. If you’re having trouble finding the information you’re looking for, please complete our Enquiry Form.

Q: Do I need to pay up front for the courses?
A: Once you have booked on to a course your place is not secured until your course fee has been received. Therefore, once we have put your name down for a course it is important to send in your course fee within two weeks to avoid disappointment. If your course fee is not received within two weeks of booking on to a course your place may be offered to someone else.

Q: If I want to do more than one course, do I need to fill in forms for each course individually?
A: Our online Booking Form allows you to book places on up to 4 different courses. Just fill in the details of the course name, dates and the number of places for each course on a separate line.
