This course will enable you to understand your 35mm SLR camera, and
teach you how to use photographic techniques creatively, through an
introduction to cameras exposure readings, aperture and shutter speed
controls, depth of field, film and ISO rating, loading and unloading
film. You will discover how to make the best use of light and creative
exposure techniques. You will look at light sources, colour conversion
filters or white balance, push / pull processing and cross processing.
You will discover how to creatively use tungsten lights, studio flash,
understand hand held meters, meter readings and lighting positions.
You will also learn how best to edit and present your work.

Who is the Professional Basics
course aimed at?
Professional Basics for Photography is aimed at the amateur photographer
who wants to further their creative photography skills, or those wishing
to gain professional photography techniques. The Professional Basics
for Photography Workshop is a fast track beginners to advanced lesson
in photography and is ideal for those with a 35mm SLR film or digital
camera who are thinking of taking their photography seriously.

The Professional Basics photography course consists
of four days of approximately three hours each. Please see our Photography

Form. If there are no dates available for the time you want to

need two or three students to run this photography workshop, so we
may be able to create an extra course if we have the demand.
