Duration of the course
Film Processing is taken as one 3 hour module comprising of the following:

Module 105 - Film Processing

This module may be taken as one three-hour day workshop on a weekend day or one weeknight.

Aim of the course
By the end of the course you will be able to process negatives and identify the difference between films of different exposure and different development. You will be able to use the darkroom to process negatives by yourself.

Module 105

Film Processing

Film Processing

Materials needed: One roll of black and white 35mm film either Ilford HP5 400 ISO shot but still in it’s canister unprocessed. If you have processed film before please shoot your film rated at 1600 ISO.

Objectives of Module: In this module you will learn how to process a 35mm black and white film competently and understand how to recognise different exposure and development combinations. You will be able to recognise a good quality negative and ascertain how the final print will be affected.

Practical Exercise
Process one roll of black and white film.
