Large
Format cameras really are amazing cameras to work with, despite being
the oldest, they offer supreme image quality. On this course you will
learn how to gain the most from large format cameras, and really get
the best from your photography skills. We will explore camera assembly,
lenses and bellow types; camera movements and perspective control
through shifts and tilts; exposure calculation, light meters and depth
of field; film loading and composition.

Who is the Large Format Photography
course aimed at?
The Large Format Photography course is suitable for those of you with
a good understanding of camera control, who want to improve the quality
of your photographs. You may be a keen amateur photographer who wishes
to advance their photography or someone looking to gain professional
photography skills.
Large Format course is an advanced lesson in photography and is ideal
for those who have completed any of our Intermediate
Photography skills camera based courses such as Camera
Techniques, Medium Format Photography
and those who have an extremely good understanding of their 35mm SLR
film or digital cameras manual controls.
If you have never really used your 35mm SLR film or digital camera
on its manual settings before we would advise you to take either Camera
Introduction, Camera
Basics and even our Basic
Photography from our Beginners
Photography courses, which provides students with a grounding
in basic camera skills.
Progression Routes
The Large Format Photography workshop prepares
students for academic study and vocational opportunities and our camera
based Dynamic Photography skills
- Level 3 courses such as Studio
Lighting. You may also want to consider our Darkroom
Techniques or Travel
Photography courses.

We only need two or three students
to run this photography workshop, so we may be able to create an extra
