Duration of the course
Photographing works of art is a half day workshop usually taken either as an evening or weekend day. The workshop is made of one module which comprises the following: This session comprises the following:

Aim of the course
By the end of the course you will be able to set up a shoot to photograph both two and three dimensional art. You will be able to select the right film and lighting for the art work and use lighting techniques to best shoe the work to its full potential.

Materials Needed for the course
Students will need:
We provide cameras and lights for this course but if you have your own camera you are more than welcome to use it. Just let us know what brand/model it is just to check that it will be appropriate, you may need to bring a hot shoe adapter to sinc the studio lights with your camera. If you bring your own camera will also need a roll of film with an ISO of no more than 100.

Objectives of Module: In this module you will learn what camera and lighting equipment you will need to photograph works of art. You will learn which films are appropriate for different artworks and end uses. You will learn how to use a hand held light meter and take appropriate meter readings for different light sources. You will discover how to use tungsten lights, studio flash and how to use lighting positions effectively. You will learn how to best photograph both two and three dimensional works of art.

Practical Exercise
Experimenting with lights and different lighting techniques to photograph two and three dimensional art.
