Digital SLR Photography is a course in digital photography, which will enable you to gain a full understanding of your digital camera's manual controls and composition techniques. Our Digital SLR Photography classes are ideal for beginners and those wishing to refresh previous digital camera knowledge or those moving from analogue to digital photography and looking for a straightforward digital photography workshop to gain a better understanding of digital camera skills.


Aim of the course: Digital SLR Photography

Digital SLR Photography is a jargon-free guide to digital photography basics. When studying digital photography at Zoom In, we show you how to get the most from your digital SLR camera. We will explore meter readings, understanding ISO, shutters, apertures and composition. You will understand all the manual controls of your digital camera. We also explore simple yet effective compositional techniques to help you achieve the most with your pictures. Our short courses in digital photography run throughout the year.

Digital SLR - Camera 1 (Module 111) Show Details Show Details

Materials Required
One manually controlled digital SLR camera and memory card of at least 512Mb.

Objectives of the Module
This module will enable you to use a 35mm digital SLR camera competently. You will understand how to use the full functionality of your camera to take great photographs instead of hit and miss shots. This includes manual exposure reading, knowing what ISO, shutter and aperture controls to use for a given photograph, manual focusing and lens choice. You will also learn how to manipulate the camera to produce special effects.

Practical Exercise
Shoot images following exercises in handouts.

Objectives of the Module
