Centre
for Filipinos (Hammersmith) - Photo Project
Reviews
Evaluation
Most of the core group attended every week, even despite the journey to Clapham
for the darkroom sessions! Other members of CF also dropped into the sessions
occasionally, for example during the Kew Gardens trip, and were able to
pick up a few pointers to help them take better photos. The core group
progressed very quickly, and produced some fantastic individual images
as well as some very creative photo-essays. Most people also produced an
album or booklet of pictures as well. The work was shown to great acclaim
at St Alban’s Church as part of a Filipino cultural event on May
18th 2003. Many of the pictures are also now part of the book, which was
published by CF.
The final course evaluation was done in the form of a group discussion rather
than with evaluation forms, as the group felt that forms were a bit off
putting. All the participants rated both the course and the teaching quality
as excellent or good. Since the end of the course, some of the participants
have decided to form a photography club to continue practicing their skills.
Special thanks to the staff of CF for their help, and to language support
tutor
Barbara, who helped make the course so positive.
